THE DISCOVERY OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN

On Tuesday 20th December 2011 at 15:00 in the Hörsaalzentrum 1 (HS1) of the Chemistry building (CHE, Bergstraße 66, Dresden), the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry I invites you to a public Christmas lecture about the discovery of the world famous Meissen porcelain.

The lecture, in the form of a comedy, will present the events that led Johann Friedrich Böttger and Ehrenfried Walther von Tschirnhaus to the creation of the first European porcelain. The event will be accompanied by many loud and flashy chemistry demonstrations, like the magic instant ice-cream, fire breathing and cryo-cookies.
