As part of the lecture series\u00a0\u201cDisability From The Inside Out: Interdisziplin\u00e4re Perspektiven auf Behinderung,\u201d American memoirist and poet Kenny Fries is giving a talk on “The History of My Shoes and the Evolution of Darwin’s Theory: Adaptation, Disability, and Difference.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Kenny Fries is the author of three memoirs and several collections of poems, including Body, Remember<\/em>:\u00a0A Memoir<\/em>, Desert Walking<\/em>, and In the Gardens of Japan. <\/em>He received the Creative Arts Fellowship from the Japan-U.S. Friendship Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as grants from the DAAD, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and Toronto Arts Council. He is a teacher in the MFA in Creative Writing Program at Goddard College.<\/p>\n
