The goal of this Winter School, held at the\u00a0University of Groningen in January 2015, is to show the relevance of narrative theory and its methods of analysis for literary\/art studies and in various professional contexts.<\/p>\n

The kinds of narratives participants will work with include a variety of genres and media. Particular attention will go to theoretical and methodological issues, and to application possibilities.<\/p>\n

The lectures will be given by some of the most prominent theorists in the field of narratology, showcasing cutting-edge research in the field of narratology. The students will be expected to apply their acquired knowledge in an assignment, which they will present at the end of the week.<\/p>\n

What do individuals and collectives \u2018do\u2019 through their uses of narratives, be they fictional or non-fictional? The Winter School will in particular zoom in on the following topics:<\/p>\n
