TRACES /Spuren e.V.: A Talk with Founder and Director Michael Luick-Thrams
On Thursday, June 1, 2017, Michael Luick-Thrams, the director of both the US organization TRACES and its German branch Spuren e.V., is going to talk about the work and projects of this organization. The talk is hosted by HATIKVA e.V. Dresden.
TRACES/Spuren e.V. is a non-profit educational organization created to collect, preserve, and present the diverse stories of people from the US Midwest, Germany, and Austria who came into contact during World War II. By so doing, TRACES/Spuren e.V. aims to promote intercultural communication and understanding.
Michael Luick-Thrams earned his Phd at the Humboldt-University in Berlin. Over the last decades, he has gained experience in the fields of education, history, and genealogy. As the great-grandson of a member of the Ku Klux Klan, he has been aiming at examining the roots and causes of centers of collective conflicts via sharing and collecting personal and familial (hi)stories.
