Collaborative Research Center “Invectivity: Constellations and Dynamics of Disparagement” to be opened on 17 October

The official opening of the new Collaborative Research Center (CRC) “Invectivity: Constellations and Dynamics of Disparagement” at the TU Dresden will take place on 17 October 2017, 5:30 p.m., at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden.

 

 

From 7 p.m., the issue of “Populism” will be approached from different perspectives. Speakers include Prof. Dr. Albrecht Koschorke and Georg Seeßlen as well as performer “Kanakmän” Muhsin Omurka.

The Chair for North American Literature is also involved in the CRC with a project titled “Toward the Poetics and Politics of Disparagement in US-American Popular Culture”. In its first phase, the project will focus on invective poetics and politics in contemporary U.S. television culture.
