Upcoming Workshop-Conference: “Star Trek und andere Blicke in die Gegenwart der Zukunft”

The network ‘Weiter Sehen’ has officially moved to outer space and the realm of utopia: The upcoming, sixth workshop-conference of the group of researchers from cultural, literary, and social studies will be (mainly) focusing on the TV series Star Trek.

In interrogating this and other science-fiction series from an interdisciplinary perspective, the conference inquires into the potentially transformative and/or transgressive implications of science fiction in relation to discourses of globalization and utopian techno-futurism, gender debates, and, of course, seriality.
