Scholarship Opportunity: Graduate School of the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies seeks new students

It is the objective of the Graduate School’s program to provide research training of the highest international standards while at the same time promoting independent research. The graduate program offers individualized supervision and provide research opportunities in American/Canadian research institutes, archives and libraries.

Based on an innovative research program, the interdisciplinary curriculum of the Graduate School has been designed to respond to the growing need to move beyond traditional disciplines while remaining anchored within a discipline. The doctoral study program covers a period of three years. Postdoctoral stipends are granted for two years. The seminars are attended by both doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.

GSNAS admits 10 doctoral candidates per year and awards up to 10 scholarships. The annual deadline for applications is January 31st. Interviews are generally held in April. Admission to the program starts in October (German fall term).
